Things You'll Need:
- Phone and access to the internet
-
Step 1
Go to your local tire dealer and ask them to inspect your tires. Most dealers will do this for you as coourtesy if they don't you probably don't want to do business with them anyway.
-
Step 2
Have the dealer write down the tire size and speed rating your car has and the correct size and speed rating. This is VERY important because the wrong size and or speed rating can be dangerous in some situations, as in mixing tire types and sizes. Also if your vehicle is 4wd or all wheel drive differences in these can destroy your drivetrain and cost you thousands of dollars.
-
Step 3
Go home and look on the internet at different websites using the information you received from the local dealer. Find a tire that is suitable to your driving needs. Record the website as the dealer you purchase from may want it. Find the lowest price but keep in mind most prices on the web include NO LABOR, or other services. You will probably have to calculate in shipping as well as most internet companies will chargee that.
-
Step 4
After you have found your lowest possible price start calling your local dealers asking for comparable tires to what you found. While you are doing this also fond the dealer that gives you service after the sale. Rotations, Flat repairs, warranties, etc.. These services are very importatnt to the longevity of your tires so DO NOT discount them. Find the dealer that gives you the best overall deal and ask them if they price match the COST of the tires. Most of your large companies such as Discount/ Americas Tire, and Merchants/Tire Kingdom will do this. Remember don't forget the services after the sale as these are just as important as the tires themselves if you don't take care of your tires they WILL NOT take care of you.
