Step 1
RSS stands for Rich Site Summary or Really Simple Syndication depending on which site you follow. Information , breaking news, web updates happen so fast, it is almost impossible to be up to date. RSS solves this problem.
-
Step 2
Instead of going to each site individually, if you sign up for an RSS Feed, you are instantly notified when something changes. Weather alerts, new products arriving, receiving newsletters are all based on an RSS feed.
-
Step 3
Before you can receive an RSS feed, you must have an RSS reader. Check out the reviews of RSS Readers on cnet.com and choose a reader and download it. They usually are free.

on 9/19/2008 I was totally clueless - never had a chance to learn this stuff. I printed it and intend to follow.

on 6/21/2008 Thanks. I half-knew about RSS, and now I three-quarters know it. Guess I'll have to get a reader so I can get the full 100%. Good article.

on 6/17/2008 Interesting. I have often seen the little RSS logo on websites, and didn't really know what to do with it. Thanks. 5 stars.
