For parents and children alike, Webkinz World has transformed how young children use the internet. Webkinz World offers a safe environment for children to play learning games, communicate with other kids, and earn some cool stuff at the same time. However, as safe as Webkinz World is, there's always a danger that you could have your password stolen. Please read on to learn what the danger really is, and how you can protect yourself from this happening to you!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A Parent
  • Your Webkinz ID and Password
  • Pen and Paper
  1. Step 1

SAFE PASSWORD: Before doing anything else, first you should make sure your password is impossible to guess. Is it the name of one of your cats? Or maybe even your favorite music band? Those are unsafe passwords. If a password doesn't have at least letters AND numbers, then it isn't safe. Why must you use a safe password? Because anyone who gets a hold of your password can sell off your webkinz furniture and transfer your money to their account.

  2. Step 2
    Make your password secure!
    Make your password secure!

REMEMBER YOUR PASSWORD: Come up with a fun password with letters and numbers that make a sentence you'll remember. For example, let's say you have a teacher who's name is Mr. Smith. You could use the following password: "MrSmith1sAdork!" Always replace an "i" with a 1 and end the password with a "!". This is a sentence you'll remember and the numbers and special characters make it extra secure. Go ahead and come up with a brand new secure password for your Webkinz World account.

  3. Step 3

KEEPING IT SECRET: This is the most important step. Once you've created a Webkinz World password that is secure and easy to remember, you've got to do everything you can to keep it secret. You may feel like you can trust your friends, but if they have your password and they sell your items - there's little chance you'll ever be able to find out who did it. These items represent real money, these were items that came with the webkinz that parents pay for. When these items and Webkinz cash gets stolen, that's a very real theft. Would you give a friend the password to your bank account? So keep your Webkinz account secure. Don't ever tell anyone your password.

  4. Step 4
    Tell someone you trust.
    Tell someone you trust.

WHEN THINGS GO WRONG: Have you logged into Webkinz only to notice that half of your furniture is missing and your Webkinz cash has dropped significantly? It is likely that someone found out your password and has stolen most of your items. If this happens, immediately change your password to something else. Then, report what happened to a teacher or parents. Let them know who it was that you told your password to so that they can have a talk with the person and let them know that stealing, even within the virtual Webkinz World, is a very wrong thing to do.
