How to Make Blackened Grilled Chicken Rub Recipe

Here's an easy way to make spicy Cajun blackened chicken on the grill. This spice rub can be used for chicken, fish or meats.These can be grilled indoors or out.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Mix the following spices together in a small bowl: 1 tablespoon paprika, 1/2 teaspoon chili powder, 1 tsp ground black pepper, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp fajita seasoning.

  2. Step 2

    Trim and clean 4 boneless chicken breasts. Pat dry with paper towel. Spray or sprinkle on olive oil on one side of each chicken breast. Sprinkle spice mix liberally onto chicken, then rub in with hands.

  3. Step 3

    Flip each chicken breast over and sprinkle with oil followed by spice mix and rub. Let sit in refrigerator 20 minutes.

  4. Step 4

    Grill on hot barbecue grill for 6-7 minutes per side or bake in the oven in a glass baking dish for 20-30 minutes or until no longer pink inside. Enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • Save any leftover spice mix before contaminating it with raw chicken or meat. Put it in a sealed jar.
  • Make it spicier by adding more chili powder or cayenne pepper
