For anyone suffering from anxiety attacks they can be quit scary. Others in your circle such as family and friends may not understand what you are going through and can be unsupportive. This can make you feel even more anxious, especially if you feel that you don't have anyone to rely on except yourself. And at the time of an anxiety attack you feel out of control, so relying on your self is not an option. So who will be there for you during such a time? God will! With the help of God you can work through an anxiety attack.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Salvation
  • Bible
  • Faith
Step1
SALVATION- Before you can ask God to help you work thourgh an anxiety attack, you have to be sure you are in His family (also known as a Christian.) This is where you'll need your bible.

John 3:16 Says "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes on him shall not perish but have everlasting life."

John 1:12 says "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name"

So how exactly do you become saved and into the family of God? Romans 10:9-10 says "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation"

Simply pray this prayer (Do this before the next anxiety attack) God I know I have sinned, please forgive me for my sins, I believe that Jesus died and rose again on the 3rd day, I accept Jesus as my saviour now. In Jesus' Name Amen.
Step2
RECEIVE YOUR PROMISES- Now that you are in the family of God you have a right to the promises of God.

2Timothy 1:7 says "For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."

As a believer you have the mind of Christ.

ICorinthians 2:16 says "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ."

The mind of Christ is not anxious. God is your helper, Jesus is your helper. Now you have someone to lean on while you are working through an anxiety attack.
Step3
MEDITATE ON YOUR PROMISES- To work through an anxiety attack, speak the promises of God out loud. I have the mind of Christ. God has not given me the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Say it like you mean it and say it like you believe it; even if you don't feel like it. Say it out loud. Over and over again.
Step4
BREATH- while you are speaking your promises don't forget to slow your breathing to work through an anxiety attack. In through your nose, out through your mouth. Again deeply in through your nose, let it out through your mouth. Pause: Speak your promises then continue your breathing exercises in this manner.
Step5
VISION- During an anxiety attack visualize what you will be doing many years from now. Especially if you are afraid of death. Visualize yourself with grandchildren or visualize yourself with gray hair in your retirement years. Expect long life and visualize it. Also visualize positive things from your life today.

The bible says in Philippians 4:8 "Finally brethern, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-MEDITATE ON THESE THINGS."

What God is saying is think on good things. So think about beautifully colored flowers, or your favorite art piece, or the nice cookies someone baked for you. Reach for the thoughts of good things that have happened to you and think on them.
Step6
STAY PREPARED- After working through an anxiety attack in this manner, you may receive another one at a later time. Get prepared now. Read the verses mentioned in the earlier steps. Read them until you understand and believe them and they are in your spirit. Continue meditating and speaking them during the times when you are not experiencing an anxiety attack. Continue thinking on good things. When the next anxiety attack comes you'll be ready and eventually you will be free from anxiety attacks, using this method.

Tips & Warnings

  • These methods are tried and true, this is the way God delivered (cured) me from anxiety attacks.
  • You must seek to do what is right in order to continue to receive the promises of God.
  • Seek proffesional advice from a mental health counselor as needed
