Choosing Your Tea and Preparing to Enjoy!

  1. Step 1

Choosing the best types of tea is a fun experience. You can read about the different types of tea leaves on the Internet, or explore your grocerers shelves to see what strikes your fancy.

  2. Step 2

If you enjoy tea in both the morning and the evening, it is best to choose both a caffeinated and a non-caffeinated brand.

  3. Step 3

Invest in a nice tea pot and tea cup - both add to the experience.

  4. Step 4

Make sure you have either good bottled water or purified water as a source.

  5. Making Your Tea

  6. Step 1

Never microwave tea if you want to get the maximum enjoyment out of it. Use your teapot, and bring it to boiling.

  7. Step 2

Fill your cup with tea, and add either your teabag or tea ball. Cover with a saucer to allow it to steep.

  8. Step 3

Steep your tea for 1-2 minutes, or until it is as strong as you desire.

  9. Step 4

Remove the tea bag or tea ball. Sweeten to taste.

  10. Enjoying Your Tea

  11. Step 1

Thich Nhat Hanh, the Buddist monk, says that you have to be fully present in this moment in order to enjoy a cup of tea. This is called "mindfulness" in Buddist tradition. Before enjoying your tea, put all stressful thoughts far away from you so you can focus on the experience.

  12. Step 2

First of all, feel the warmth of the cup in your hand. Let it flow up through your hands into the rest of your body.

  13. Step 3

Next, inhale the delicate aroma of the tea - allowing the steam to gently warm your face.

  14. Step 4

Sip it slowly and gently, savoring every last drop.

Tips & Warnings
  • The better quality tea you choose, the better the experience!
  • Loose leaf tea can be enjoyed for one using an inexpensive tea ball.
  • Don't drink it too quickly - or it will be gone before you know it!
