As an owner or worker at a daycare center, you understand how important it is to know where each child is at any given time. Finding the right attendance form is necessary to keep track of the child and billable hours.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Search on the Internet. Using your favorite search engine, search using terms like “attendance forms” or “daycare attendance forms.” Browse through the search results for free forms, and download them. Some forms are modifiable so that you can tweak it to meet the needs of your daycare center.

  2. Step 2

Create your own. With a simple word processing program or spreadsheet software, you can make your own free daycare attendance forms. The good thing about creating your own attendance forms is that it will be tailor made specifically for the needs of your day care.

  3. Step 3

Have the older children create an attendance form. It's a free and imaginative way to keep the children entertained. On a large poster board, allow the children to create an attendance form where they learn to recognize their own names. When they come to the daycare, they place a sticker next to their name in the in column and another one in the out column whey they’re picked up. It’s free and the children learn a little about responsibility.

  4. Step 4

Speak to other day care center owners. Joining an organization that caters to daycare providers such as the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is a surefire way to learn the latest daycare information available. Talk to other daycare providers to find out where to get free day care attendance forms.

  5. Step 5

Access online community forums. Visit day care community forums such as Daycare.com. Similar to joining an off line organization, online forums are a great source of information. You should be able to find out how other daycare providers have downloaded or created their free daycare attendance forms.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't pick just any attendance form. Make sure it is one that you can easily manage.
