Things You'll Need:
- Crossword Puzzles
-
Step 1
Keep your brain sharp by mixing things up a little. Eat with your non-predominant hand, or learn to say the alphabet backwards. Another way to keep your brain sharp is by playing games such as crossword puzzles or Sudoko.
-
Step 2
Eat a diet rich in antioxidants and Omega-3 fatty acids. Make sure to incorporate plenty of fresh, healthy foods and take a daily multivitamin.
-
Step 3
Take care of your dental health. Brush, floss, and visit your dentist regularly. Gum disease can cause heart disease and even stroke, so by catching and taking care of dental problems early you can ward off possible illness.
-
Step 4
Exercise every day. You don't need to run a marathon! A brisk walk or a few laps in the pool will help your body stay fit and young.
-
Step 5
Get involved. Once you retire, don't spend your days on the couch. Find a cause you believe in and volunteer. Get a new hobby or revive one you had put aside. Feeling like you have a purpose will keep you younger.
