Scars are marks that make people feel insecure and sometimes remind them of something they wish they could forget. Despite efforts it seems that no amount of make-up will cover them. One way to minimize their appearance is to flatten them.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Silicone strips
  • Vitamin E
  • Cocoa Butter
  • Exfoliation aids
  • Medical tape
  • Bandages
  1. Step 1

Place a silicone strip over the scar. Cover the strip with medical tape to secure it. Leave on overnight as you sleep. Repeat nightly.

  2. Step 2

Exfoliate the scar area with a scrub or exfoliating sponge, spa treatment or all of the above. A scrub can be used daily, a sponge every other day and a spa treatment weekly.

  3. Step 3

Soak a bandage in Vitamin E oil. Rub Vitamin E on the scar and place the bandage over the scar. Leave on for an hour or until the Vitamin E has been absorbed in the skin.

  4. Step 4

Rub cocoa butter on the scar daily, twice a day if possible. Rub in with your fingers for five minutes. This will soften the scar and help reduce the scar tissue underneath the surface scar. Just continue to repeat these steps and the scar will flatten.

Tips & Warnings
  • Choose one or two treatment methods at a time; don't use every product on the market at once
  • Don't irritate the surrounding skin with too many products
