Sketch out a drawing of the Lego House you'd like to build. This will help you determine what you will need, and it will give you something to use as blue prints once you start constructing it. If you are working with a child, let them sketch it out.

Decide what size Legos you intend to use. Lego offers a variety of different size and type blocks. If you are working with a child, you may want to base your decision on their skill level. For a younger child, use Lego's Duplo blocks. For an older child, you may want to try the much smaller Legos.

Based on your drawing, estimate approximately how many blocks you will need, what colors and what shapes. Lego offers more than just square blocks. Their blocks come in every shape from square, to rectangle, to triangle to even flowers! They also offer windows and doors.

You can find the website under the Resources section. You can also purchase them here as well, and have them shipped right to your house. If you'd rather visit the Lego store and see the Lego's firsthand, you can find a list of stores on the Lego website as well. These stores contain some of the most amazing Lego creations. It may be worth the trip just for that!

Begin buildling! Use your drawing as a guide, but use your imagination as well. Lego offers so many unique blocks, and the possibilities are endless. You may want to purchase a large Lego board or table if you don't already have one. This will make construction, and then displaying your house simple and attractive!
