How to Create a Carrie Bradshaw Costume

Carrie Bradshaw is more than a television show character. She is a cultural icon that represents fun and fashion. She was created for the show, "Sex and the City." It is also now a feature film. Carrie has a passion for friends and New York City. She writes about sex and the city, but she also cares a whole awful lot about fashion. Here is how you can create a stunning Carrie Bradshaw costume.

1. Do your hair. Better yet, have it done for you if you can afford it. Carrie gets hers done! You should curl your hair if it is long and blond. Otherwise, you will need to buy a long, curly blond wig. Luckily, those are quite easy to find.

2. Put on a designer dress. It must look as though it is modern and from an expensive designer. Although you can explore the local mall, it is best to shop in recycled designer shops. Think of it as thrift shops for those who only wear labels. When someone asks Carrie what she is wearing, she never hesitates with a proud answer.

3. Remember that shoes make the outfit. Shoes are probably more important to get right than the dress. Watch the movie or the television show for shoe inspiration! High heels can work here, even if they are not attached to a label. The shoes must be both unique and gorgeous, or Carrie would not wear them!

4. Focus on accessories. Carrie wears jewelry that compliments her outfits. She usually keeps the focus on her beautiful clothes, though. You want to keep it low key here.
