1
Set the wedding earlier in the day. The earlier in the day you have the wedding, the less likely you will be expected to serve alcohol. Anyone who demands a drink before noon has issues you should not have to deal with at your wedding.

2
Provide an alternative bar. Setting up an espresso or cappuccino bar can give guests a buzz without causing bad behavior. Soft drinks and ice cream in the summer or hot chocolate or apple cider in winter are also great options to replace the alcohol bar.

3
Just say no to all those who argue with you. There will be those who try to change your mind and pressure you into providing alcohol or at least a cash bar. This is your wedding day and your decision is final.
-
4
Remove blame from yourself. For those who are persistent in trying to force you to serve alcohol at your wedding, take away their argument by telling them that religious, personal, or family reasons issues dictate your choice. You can always blame it on the cost.
-
5
Give guests suggestions on where they can go after the wedding to “party’ and entertain each other at their own expense. After the wedding, especially those early in the day, guests like to get together and continue to celebrate. You can give suggestions of places they can go and have fun and purchase alcohol on their own. Parents of the couple can also opt to have a pool party or other entertainment for out of town guests and relatives at their own expense.
