Getting your credit score is very important to your financial status. If you want to get an auto loan or a line of credit, buy your own home, or obtain a credit card, you need an excellent credit score. The better your score is, the better your rates will be, and you will be able to get loans and credit cards more easily. This is also important in preventing identity theft or stolen credit. Your credit can quickly dwindle if a card falls into the wrong hands, and you could be responsible for paying back the debt that accrued. In the United States, you are entitled to get a credit report (which includes your credit score) once a year for free. The score can range from about 400 to 800.
