Rigatoni is a thick tube shaped pasta that can be used in many different dishes. Rigatoni can be paired up with all different sorts of sauces as well as being stuffed with a variety of cheeses.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 boxes of Rigatoni
  • 7 cups of salted water
  • 2 large pots
  • 2 cans of tomato sauce
  • 2 cans of diced Italian style tomatoes
  • 1 can of tomato paste
  • Parmesan cheese
  • 2 pounds of lean ground beef
  • Large platter
  1. Step 1

Boil 7 cups of salted water and add the 2 boxes of rigatoni. Allow to cook for at least 25 minutes or until the rigatoni is fork tender. Drain rigatoni and set aside.

  2. Step 2

Place other pot on stove on medium heat. Place the ground beef inside and break up as much as possible. Once the ground beef begins to cook, add the can of tomato paste and stir together. Cook meat until completely done.

  3. Step 3

Turn heat down to medium heat adding the 2 cans of tomato sauce and the 2 cans of Italian style diced tomatoes. Stir well and allow to heat for 30 minutes.

  4. Step 4

Place platter on counter and pour rigatoni noodles on top. Spoon sauce on rigatoni sparingly. Do not mix pasta, allow sauce to sit for 15 minutes so the rigatoni soaks some of the sauce up.

  5. Step 5

Sprinkle Parmesan cheese all over top of rigatoni and sauce. Serve it with crusty garlic bread and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • Use sausage instead of hamburger meat.
  • Use ground turkey or chicken as a substitute instead of hamburger meat.
  • Sprinkle fresh oregano on top of rigatoni once on plate.
