1
Secure your ticket for a tour. Going to the premises without a tour group is strictly prohibited, so simply go to their website and choose a date for your ghost hunting adventure. Follow the link provided in the Resources section to get to the site.
-
2
Do some research. You'll be able to watch the TAPS investigation online, so take some time to watch it and find the hot spots the ghost hunting team found. Look for the episode titled "Haunted Asylum."
-
3
On your arranged day, go to the asylum. You'll find it at 71 Asylum Drive in Weston, West Virginia. Bring all your ghost hunting equipment.
-
4
Use your digital recorder. The TAPS ghost hunting team got plenty of EVP's while investigating this site, including the sound of a female laughing and someone instructing the group to "go home!" Yikes!
-
5
Take plenty of photos. Visitors have reported seeing shadowy figures and full body apparitions at the asylum, so if you are doing a night tour, chances are pretty good you might also make contact, so be prepared.
-
6
Find a quiet space. If you get a chance, find a quiet location to do some EVP work and see if you can feel any other-worldy spirits to make contact with. The tour directors will tell you the hot spots so do your best to open your mind up and communicate.

Tips & Warnings
Go twice. Give yourself plenty of chances to catch a ghost as they don't always appear on command.
Join a ghost hunting group and go to the asylum together. That way you get the added benefit of sharing finds and equipment.
Don't trespass. Always tour the location with a legitimate ticket and time.
