Postcards can provide inspiration for your reception seating chart

Most brides use numbers to designate the tables at their wedding reception, but a different idea is to use place names and incorporate postcards of the locales on placards used to label each table. This idea works well for destination weddings, where postcards are easy to find. But you can also spark conversation among guests if you can find antique postcards of locations in the community surrounding the wedding locale.

Instructions

    • 1

Caption each postcard with a unique name instead of a number. For example, if the postcards show covered bridges in Vermont, caption with the bridge and town name. Print the captions out from your computer or have it done in calligraphy.

    • 2

Attach four self-adhesive corner backings to each postcard. Center and attach the postcard to the mat frame. Attach the caption to the mat below the postcard.

    • 3

Place placards on small wooden easels, such as those used to display collectible plate, on each table.
