Step 1
Know the three rune spread. A line of runes is referred to as a “spread” and a three rune spread is useful in getting a complete picture by placing it in context. The three rune spread signifies where you have been, where you are, and on what you need focus on for the future.

Step 2
Draw the past. The first rune drawn is the past. The past provides background to the situation and shows the events that led up to the situation. Lay it out first.

Step 3
Draw the present. The second rune drawn is the now or present. The present rune gives insight into the current situation. Lay it out second.

Step 4
Draw the future. The third and last rune drawn is the future. The future runes give insight in what will likely develop after rune 1 and rune 2. Lay it out third.

Step 5
Interpret the rune spread. Use the rune meaning chart or from books of rune meanings to translate the rune meanings. Runes can have different meaning if they are picked up right or reversed. If drawn reversed the runes will have an opposite meaning.

on 8/27/2009 Divination and the ability to interpret divination is a gift from God. It is because of narrow minded individuals that the world has so much hate and destruction. Because of individuals who are not content with their own beliefs feel the need to force them upon others simply because it differs from their own. May God bless those individuals, may they open their hearts and accept, even if they do not understand, all that is different from them and their beliefs.
