Designing a Smart and Stylish Snake Cage

Take some shelving board and cut it to the dimensions you want for your cage design. Lay your board on a flat surface and begin to build your cage around it.

Cut some groves along the board for sliding your plexi glass into place.

For heating you can use a heat lamp. Cut a rectangle into the plexi glass on one side of the wall. Cover the hole with wire mesh, and hot glue into place.

Place black aluminum mesh over the ventilation holes on the sides of the cage for a better design and look.

For lighting you can use florescent lights. This is an excellent addition to your cage design.

Cut off the front portion of the glass. Attach hinges to the front, and then reattach the front portion of the glass to the hinges. Use the screws that come with the hinges to secure the hinged door.

Tips & Warnings
Know the type of snake you are going to build a cage for. This will save you a lot of time and hardship in the long run.
Do not use wire floors for snakes. You can use it for other lizards and reptiles only. Avoid using flex-watt heat tape, unless you have been building snake cages for a long time. The flex-watt heat tape must be well insulated when distributed throughout the cage.
