How to Make a Set of Worry Beads

Worry beads are made on the same principle as that of prayer beads. However, worry beads are used as a more general tool. The color of the cord and beads is determined by the intent or purpose. For instance a set of worry beads for health may be purple, beads for creativity may be yellow and so on. The correspondences between color and intent are not set in stone. Use your own intuition to determine that which works best for you. For the purpose of this How To, we will walk through how to make a set of worry beads for prosperity.

Things You'll Need

  • Piece of green cord 13 inches in length
  • Green beads (all same size or close)
  • Frankincense incense
  • Incense holder

Instructions

    • 1

As with any other working, you want to take a few minutes to sit, relax and gather your thoughts. Consider your intent and focus your energies accordingly. Since the worry beads we are making are for prosperity you may want to focus on those things you associate with money. This could be anything from having a little extra cash each month to paying off all your bills and getting out of debt once and for all. You could even approach it as a way of re-establishing your relationship with money and finances by taking a new, more responsible attitude towards managing your money. If you wish, ask Spirit, or whichever Divinity you feel most comfortable working with, to guide you.

    • 2

As you take the cord in hand, focus your energies on your intent. Begin to string the beads on the cord. With each bead speak aloud your affirmation, or intent. Speaking your intent aloud will bind you, and your energies, to the beads.

    • 3

String the beads so that they are not rubbing too closely together. Allow some room between each bead, that way, as with prayer beads, you have enough room to work the beads back and forth.

    • 4

Once all the beads are on the cord, take the two ends and tie them together with a triple knot. As you tie each knot, affirm your intent aloud and ask Spirit to aid you with binding your intent to the beads.

    • 5

Light the incense and pass the worry beads through the smoke to consecrate them. As you pass the beads through the smoke offer a prayer of thanks and blessing.

    • 6

Once you have consecrated the worry beads, and you are finished, don't forget to thank Spirit!

Tips & Warnings

  • Whenever you are working with the beads, you do not have to go through the formalities as you would with normal ritual.

  • The feeling of working the beads in a rhythmic manner eases anxiety, while affirming your intent aloud, is what gives this form of spellwork its energy.

  • Always write out your own affirmations, prayers and chants. Using the words of someone else is ok, but you should always make it your own somehow. It is best to sidestep the shoulders of others, and stand on your own two feet.

  • Do not attempt this, or any other working, while under the influence of any intoxicating or controlled substance. You want to approach any working with a clear and focused mind.

  • Do not approach this, or any other working, with anger or malicious intent. Remember, that which you send out comes back. Harm none.
