How to Order Fresh Fast Food thumbnail
Get fresh and delicious fast food every time.

How many times a week do you order fast food? How many times is it fresh? One of the downsides with take out is receiving products that haven't been freshly prepared. Limp fries and stale hamburger buns are far from appetizing. Unless you've worked in a fast food restaurant, you may think that this is just something that you have to deal with. Thankfully there are a few secrets that will ensure that you get fresh fast food every time. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Avoid slow parts of the day. When you visit fast food restaurants during the slow parts of the day, you may get through the line quickly, but you'll get old items. The hamburger patties will be dried out and the fries will be limp. When you visit during a busy time of the day, you'll find that the food is not only fast, but also fresh. This is because the products are being made, and sold, continuously.

    • 2

Ask for no salt. If you want fresh fries, ask for no salt. When fast food restaurants make their fries, they always salt them. If you ask for fries with no salt, they must make a fresh batch. Restaurants are more than willing to comply with this request because many consumers must watch their salt intake for health reasons.

    • 3

Customize your order. Even during the busy parts of the day, some restaurants have items that have been under a heat lamp for a few hours. In order to get fresh fast food, you may want to customize your selection. For example, you can ask for extra cheese or ketchup. This ensures that your fast food doesn't come from a bin.

    • 4

Choose popular items. Fast food items that are popular have to be made several times a day. This means that those selections are always fresh. Less popular items may sit around for several hours before they are finally sold.

    • 5

Pay attention to promotions. When fast food restaurants run a promotion, they sell hundreds of those items. The key is to visit the restaurant during the busy parts of the day. When it's slow, fast food restaurants will prepare several of those items so that they are available for the next rush. In other words, those items will be under a heat lamp.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have to order fast food during a slow part of the day, a salad is your best bet.

  • If you want salt on your fries, ask for a pack when you get to the pick-up window.

  • Pay attention to health scores. Storing food for too long can lower the score.

well I can't speak for other fast food places, but when I worked at Arby's we had to throw out any sandwiches that had been sitting for more than 10 minutes. As for the fries, those almost never sat around very long.

Isn't this article oxymoronic? The ingredients have already been manufactured in plants across the country, frozen, and shipped hundreds of miles. Who cares if they sit under a light for an extra few hours?
