How to Change Tube and Tire on Rim of a Motocross Bike

  1. Step 1

Remove the entire wheel from the bike.

  2. Step 2

Remove the bead lock, if there is one on your particular model of motocross bike.

  3. Step 3

Remove the damaged tire and wheel from the rim, using tire levers if needed.

  4. Step 4

Place a new tube onto the rim of the bike, making sure that it is not twisted and that it lines up properly. The fill valve should be lined up with the hole in the wheel.

  5. Step 5

Place a new tire onto the rim, over the tube. Make sure you do not pinch the tube as you do this. Again use the tire levers if needed.

  6. Step 6

Fill the tube with a bit of air, making sure it is lined up properly and hasn't been pinched by the tire. Once you are assured that it is okay, fill it completely with air. If it is not lined up properly, or has been pinched, remove the air from the tube and begin again, starting with Step 4.

  7. Step 7

Place the wheel back onto your motocross bike. Remember to reattach the bead lock as well, if applicable.
