How to Be Creative When Asking a Girl to the Prom

In school, prom is the biggest dance of the year. And most of the time you will have a couple people thinking of asking the same girl. So the key to landing your perfect date is to ask early and be creative. Here are a couple steps to follow to do just that... Does this Spark an idea?

Create the Prom of your Dreams by Thinking Outside the Box

1. Decide who you are going to ask. There is no use thinking up all of these great ideas if you don't know who to ask.

2. Make sure she is a friend. There is no use spending time and money to ask someone you don't know. You don't want them to feel pressured.

3. Do one of the following ideas:

4. Cut out hundreds of spots from construction paper then scatter them all over their room, or pile them into their locker. On one have your name and number asking if they will go to the prom with you. A paper on their locker door can read, "I hate to put you on the spot, but will you go to the prom with me? Turn over the spots to see."

5. Fill their room with balloons. Inside one balloon draw a picture of yourself holding balloons asking if they will go to the prom with you. On their door have a note saying, "Pop each balloon of different hue to find out who would love to go to the prom with you."

6. Cut the core out of one banana and place a note inside one saying, "I am bananas about you" or "You would make me go bananas if you would go to the prom with me."

7. Draw with chalk on their driveway, so when they walk out the door they see your invitation--larger than life.

8. Write a song and serenade her. Make it fun. Don't be too melo-dramatic.

9. Have fun and be creative and let that creativity spill over into your date.

• Talk to your parents or other friends, they may have great ideas that worked for them.

• Make sure the girl you are asking does not already have a date; it will save you time, money, and embarrassment.
