How to Amplify the Cable Signal
If you need to hook a new TV up to your cable line and you want to ensure that you aren't weakening the signal to your other televisions on the line, you can use a splitter/amplifier to keep the cable quality. You can install the splitter/amplifier in a few steps.

Purchase a splitter/amplifier from an electronics store. This device should have a few female cable jacks and a power source that you will plug into the wall.

Pick up an extra cable extension cord with two male plugs to connect your television to the line.

Plug the cable from the wall jack into the splitter/amplifier input jack.

Plug the outgoing cable into the output jack on the splitter/amplifier and into the TV.

Connect any other cables to the splitter/amplifier that are going to other television sets from the original cable feed from the wall jack.

Plug in the splitter/amplifier. Your cable signal is amplified.

Tips & Warnings
If you use a cable modem, get a bi-directional amplifier to allow the signal to travel in and out, which is necessary for a modem to send and receive data.
