How would you like to help make history by participating in the world's longest breakfast table? You can, by being part of the annual event to keep the title of World's Longest Breakfast Table in "Guiness: Book of Records. Every year, Cereal City, USA, also known as Battle Creek, Michigan hosts the World's Longest Breakfast Table. Why would a town do such a thing? Because Battle Creek is home to the original Kellogg's, Post, and Ralston cereal factories. The event is always held on the second Saturday morning in June. How do you attend the world's longest breakfast table?

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Transportation
  • Lodging (optional)
  • Appetite
  1. Step 1

    Travel to Battle Creek, Michigan no later than 8 AM on the second Saturday in June to eat breakfast downtown with thousands of other people. The event is held every year on Saturday morning, the second Saturday of the month.

  2. Step 2

    Arrive downtown Battle Creek and find a place to sit down in the rows of picnic tables.

  3. Step 3

    Wait for volunteers to come around and offer you cereal from Kellogg's, Post, and Ralston. They will also bring milk, bananas, poptarts, and breakfast bars.

  4. Step 4

    Find lodging if you are coming from far away and explore the area after breakfast. If you drive by the cereal factories you can see some fo the original buildings still being used today to manufacture cereal.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make arrangements for lodging at the downtown hotel so you can walk to the breakfast table.
  • Call early, hotels fill up in this small town.
