MP3 players are increasingly popular now, a large percentage of the world’s population (whether old or young) are using them. There are many brands available in the market, but the most preferred brand is undoubtedly the iPod (over 170 million units have been sold as of March 2008!). The iPod line up comes in four models, as of 2008: the hard drive based iPod Classic, the touch screen iPod Touch, the video capable iPod Nano, and the screenless iPod shuffle.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

    Which model do I want?

a)Decide which model you want. By doing so, ask yourself why you need the iPod and what are its uses and style appropriate for you. You can choose from the iPod Classic, iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle and the iPod Touch

  2. Step 2

Do I want it new or used?

    a) This is probably the most important decision you'll need to make. Buying a new unit is most definitely the safer way to go, but it isn’t exactly the cheapest. However, the benefit of a brand new iPod is that extended warranties and service plans. These are things you won’t get when you buy a used or second hand iPod.
    b) If you don’t want to spend excessive amount of cash, then you could buy a used or second hand iPod. There are no guarantees as to how long the iPod will function properly. Basically, when you buy used... it may look good enough, but it’s functionality may differ in some ways.

Where do I want to buy it?

    a)iPods are practically available anywhere.
Look for them at retails shops, department stores and even (sometimes) in supermarkets. They are also being sold online, so buying these gadgets are very easy and accessible. Just make sure that no matter how easy a product can be purchased, also ensure it’s authenticity. Make sure you’re buying the right goods!
