Things You'll Need:
- Stargazer Lily bulbs
- a sunny, fertile location in your yard
-
Step 1
While you can grow Stargazer Lilies from seed it is a long and difficult process, so I recommend purchasing bulbs either from a nursery catalog or from a local garden center. These bulbs are often available in the spring at the garden center, but it is far better to buy and plant them in the mid to late fall.
-
Step 2
You will need to select a location in your yard that gets full or near full sun, to plant the bulbs. The soil should be fertile and well-drained.
-
Step 3
Stargazer Lilies should be planted in holes five to six inches deep. Depending on the quality of your soil you may want to add some bone meal or bulb fertilizer to the hole when you plant the bulb. Be careful not to plant the lilies too close together as they will multiply each year and you don't want them to crowd each other.
-
Step 4
The plants will sprout in mid-spring and grown to around three feet in height before blooming in mid to late summer. Be sure that the plants have an adequate and consistent supply of water during the entire growing season.
