How to Tell if Programs are Running Behind Your Desktop

This is how to tell if programs or services are running behind the scene.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • computer
Step1
Pop-up menu First, right click on the blue bar next to the start button. You'll get a pop-up menu like in the picture. Select 'Task Manager'.
Step2
Task Manager In the window that opens, chose the 'Processes' tab. This will show you all the processes, and programs running.
Step3
Task Manager Warning If you want to close any of the programs, select the program and click the 'End Process' button. A window will come up like in the image. Just click 'Yes' and it should close the program and remove it from the list of processes.

Tips & Warnings

  • Closing some processes will make windows crash. If windows crashes, just reboot the computer.
