After you let the good times roll, you may wake up with a roaring headache. Too much alcohol tends to do that to people. A hangover is never fun. Often times it limits our activities for the next day. Especially, if you are an active person and you need to exercise outdoors or at the gym. Learn how to exercise with a hangover.

  • Pain medication
  • A towel
  • An ice cold bottle of water or replenishing sports drink
  • The first thing you should do before leaving home for your work out is drink an eight ounce glass of water and take a pain reliever. The water will help replenish your body, especially if you are dying of thirst. The pain reliever will help with your throbbing headache.

  • Gauge the level of activity you should do by stretching before you work out. Stand up right and bend over to touch your toes. Try stretches like shoulder circles, calf stretches, standing quadriceps and triceps stretch to see which areas you may not want to exercise for the day. If you feel confident with your range of motion and warm up, begin to exercise.

  • Start your exercise routine with light cardiovascular activity. If you are going for a run in the park, start off with a swift walk then increase to a steady jog before sprinting. If you are working out in the gym, use the handrails of the machines to help you with your balance. Discontinue the use of the handrails only after you are confident in your balance. Exercise at a steady pace to begin sweating. Sweating is a major way to expel alcohol from the bloodstream.

  • Begin your weight lifting routine by securing a bench that is far away from other gym patrons. Start with weights that are at least five pounds less than you are use to using, especially if you have just started challenging yourself by using heavier weights. You want to be able to focus on your workout without having someone close to you. Pay close attention to your posture by looking in the mirror.
