Instructions

  1. Building a Disco Ball

    • 1

Set up a work station with all of your materials. Lay out newspaper or plastic. Get out your ball and the paint. Paint only one half of the ball. Sprinkle silver glitter on the wet paint. Let it dry and repeat on the other side.

    • 2

Get your measuring tape and draw a straight line around the ball, in pencil. This will serve as your guide while gluing the mirrors. Make sure it is even across the middle of the ball.

    • 3

Get out your E6000, or comparable glue, and mirrors. Put a small amount of glue on the back of your mirror. Place the mirror, centered, on the penciled in line. Continue to glue the mirrors all around the ball.

    • 4

Let your first row dry. Then, begin to glue the next row of mirrors onto your ball. Continue this process until the ball is completely covered in mirrors. Let the ball dry for 24 hours.

    • 5

Plug in the motor and set the finished disco ball on top. Place a lamp or flashlight near the ball to make light for the mirrors to reflect outward.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can wrap the ball in foil if you do not want to paint it. You will have to glue the foil in place. You can use old CDs instead of glass from a craft store You will have to cut the CDs into small pieces.

  • Be careful to not get glue on other surfaces, as it will not come off very easily.
