How to Do the Swing Dance Hammerlock

The nation is going crazy over swing dancing. The craze has been even bigger since dancing with the stars has become so popular. If you have a partner who likes to dance, this is a great way to spend some quality time with one another. You do not have to be an experienced dancer to learn to swing. It is really quite simple just follow the steps below.

  • Music
  • Yourself
  • Partner
  • Comfortable dancing shoes

    The Hammerlock Swing Dance

  1. Step 1

    To begin you need to start with the triple basic where you face your partner and are holding each other's hands in an open position. You must leave at least a foot in between you and your partner.

  2. Step 2

    Take three steps to the left to the rhythm of the music a step backwards and three steps to the right. Do these steps in unison with your partner while holding eye contact with them.

  3. Step 3

    The woman need to do an underarm turn. Your partners arms should end up behind the womans back hence the hammerlock part of the dance.

  4. Step 4

    Then you will do another turn out of the hammerlock and start the first dance steps all over again.

  5. Step 5

    You will soon be the life of every dance. As you get more use to this dance you will be able to add your own little signature touches on it.
