Things You'll Need

  • Potted marigold
  • 2 cups of water
  • Pot
  • Strainer
  • Airtight, plastic container
  • Soft washcloth

Instructions

      Boil two cups of water on the stove. When the water reaches a rolling boil you can remove it from the heat.

      Steep a handful of marigold petals in the hot water for 20 minutes. This will create a marigold infusion.

      If you wish, you can place the marigold petals in a tea ball like this one so that you do not have to strain the infusion before using it

      Strain out the petals. You can catch the marigold "tea" in the airtight plastic container.

      Wash the irritated area with the marigold infusion. You can wash the area as frequently as you like to relieve itching and burning. Do not scrub, however, or you will dramatically exacerbate the problem.
