Step 1
Navigate to and click on your Internet Service Provider so that you can access the World Wide Web. Go to and click on the search bar at the top of your screen. You will need to type in the web address http://ebay.com and click go or hit Enter on your keyboard.

Sign in to your ebay account with the user name and password that you chose during the free sign up process. This will make sure that your personal account is in use when you submit a bid.

Click on the search bar on the top of the Ebay page and type in the name of the item you are searching for to purchase, and hit Enter. A new page will load with a list of the items similar to what you typed in. Look through and find the item you wish to buy. Once you have located this item, click on the item name to open the page to look at the terms, pictures and description of the item.

Look at the top of the page and you will see the current bid. Beneath it says Your Maximum bid, and a blank spot. Next to this blank is a button that says Place Bid. Type in the amount you wish to bid on the item in this box, and hit the Place Bid button on the right.

Confirm your bid on the page that generates after you place your bid. The top of the page says Review And Confirm Bid. Once you have looked over the information to make sure it is correct, hit the Confirm Bid button on the bottom left of the screen. You have now placed a bid on Ebay.
