How to Create a Picture Tube Painting in Paint Shop Pro

You don't have to be an artist to create attractive digital paintings. With the use of Paint Shop Pro's picture tube tool, you can create paintings for decoration, web design, or graphic design work easily.

  • Picture Tubes

    Create a Picture Tube Painting with Paint Shop Pro

  1. Step 1

    Open a new picture file in Paint Shop Pro by clicking on the New icon in the top left hand corner of the screen. Make the new graphic any size you need for your finished picture.

    Fill the blank graphic with your choice of colors by clicking on the bucket fill tool on the left hand toolbar and then selecting a color from the color palette at the top right. If you want to use a gradient fill, left click on the round black circle under the top color choice and select the gradient tool. Select the gradient colors by clicking on the color block and using the drop down menu.

  3. Step 3

    Select the picture tube tool from the left side toolbar. In the top palette toolbar, you can see a drop down menu of all the picture tubes you have in Paint Shop Pro. Select the one you want to use for the background of your picture tube painting. Use the scale slider bar to make it the appropriate size for your graphic. Then click on the picture to place the picture tube graphic.

    Add background scenery to the picture tube painting by selecting and using more picture tubes from the drop down menu. Remember that things far away look smaller than things close up.

    Push the scale scrollbar up to a larger size and add picture tubes to the foreground of the painting. Trees, flowers, animals, and mushrooms make the closer focus of this Paint Shop Pro picture tube painting.

  6. Step 6
    Finish the picture tube painting with focal graphics.

    Complete the Paint Shop Pro picture tube painting with a focal point in the foreground of the graphic. This picture tube should be used in a large scale and can appear to be coming out of the painting.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember perspective: small far away, large up close.
  • Only use free picture tubes and give credit where needed.
