Step 1
Selling a prepaid credit card on Ebay is the easiest way to get money for your unwanted prepaid credit card. Many people consider gift cards from stores to fall into the same category as prepaid credit cards, and these can be sold on Ebay as well. As a general rule, when you list a prepaid credit card on Ebay, you should expect to receive 80 to 90 percent of the current balance of the card. Generally prepaid credit cards such as Visa and American Express get closer to 90 percent. Store specific gift cards tend to get closer to 80 percent of the current balance on the card.

Step 2
List your prepaid credit card on Craig's List if you want to avoid the fees that Ebay charges for selling items on their website. Ebay charges listing fees and final value fees, Craig's list charges neither of these fees. My suggestion if you sell on Craig's List is to require a cash payment, as there is no protection there for the seller.

Step 3
Post a message at your office if you have a message board where employees can sell items. If you are selling an item on a message board or a physical bulletin board at work keep in mind that you are representing yourself in the workplace. In general at the office you should sell your prepaid credit card for less than you want on Ebay or on Craig's List. This is because you don't want to have a reputation of "ripping off your fellow employees".

Step 4
Contact local free magazines. Many areas have local circulars that allow average residents to list one item in the magazine either for free, or for a small fee. You most likely receive these circulars on a weekly basis in your mailbox. If you do, call the number for their classifieds section and inquire about the fee for listing.

Step 5
Sell your prepaid credit card to a friend. Just like at the office though, you will want to make sure you offer your friend a fair price for the card. Remember, they will know you don't want to keep the card, therefore you will not receive the current balance of your card as the sale price.
