Cleaning Fingerprints Can Make Discs Play Better

So you have never considered cleaning your CD no matter how often you have played it. With constant play and handling, it is no wonder that a much-loved CD will end up quite the mess. Don't worry. You can continue to enjoy your loved music. All you have to do is clean fingerprints on your CD.

Instructions

1. Bring your dirty discs to the kitchen sink. Cleaning fingerprints with chemicals or wiping can damage your CD. Water is the safest solution.

2. Hold your disc under the stream of water. Let the water run until the fingerprints are gone.

3. Hold the compact disc up to a light to check for fingerprints.

4. 

   Try wiping gently while using dishwashing detergent as only a last resort. Do not scrub the disc. Simply wipe it gently, and rinse thoroughly.

5. 

   Allow to air dry thoroughly. Place a dish towel on the kitchen counter, and lay the disc on the towel to dry. Do not rub the towel onto the disc because that can scratch the surface.
