Things You'll Need:
- Opaque, air-tight container
- Refrigerator
- Permanent marker
-
Step 1
No light can get into this container when the lid is on.Pour all of the shampoo into an opaque, air-tight container. Soapwort must be kept in the dark for it to last as long as possible.
-
Step 2
Write the date that you made the shampoo on the lid of the container in small writing. This will help you keep track of how long you have been using the batch of shampoo. Any that is left after 10 days should be thrown away. You can cross off old dates and add new ones to keep the container current.
-
Step 3
Place the container of soapwort shampoo in the refrigerator. Soapwort lasts longest when it is stored in a cool place. Make sure you put it on the bottom shelf to prohibit freezing, if your freezer is located on top of your refrigerator.
-
Step 4
Check your refrigerator's temperature settings. You need to be sure that the soapwort does not freeze, so make sure that your refrigerator is set somewhere between 5 and 7.
