Honey bees produce beeswax inside their hives. Beekeepers then refine the wax so that you can buy it in bars at organic food stores and even hobby shops.

Beeswax is one of the best things for your lips whether they are already chapped or you are trying to keep them looking healthy and soft. Natural and organic makeup products are often very expensive, but you can make the same thing at home in very little time and for a fraction of the cost. In this article, we will discuss how to make beeswax lip gloss.

  1. Step 1

Heat the beeswax and the vegetable oil in the microwave until the beeswax is soft. The wax will not become completely liquid. Heat on high for two minutes and then test it with a spoon to see if it is soft. If you think it is soft enough to mix, then remove the bowl from the microwave.

  2. Step 2

Whip the oil and beeswax until they are creamy. There should not be any lumps in the mixture.

  3. Step 3
You can add a hint of color to your lip balm with beet juice or by shaving a tiny slice of lipstick into the mixture.

Beat in the honey, glycerine and five drops of essential oil. Do not stop whipping the mixture until it is smooth and creamy.

  4. Step 4

Store your lip gloss in glass jars. It should be kept relatively cool and dry. If the texture changes, or the lip gloss starts to smell funny, throw the entire batch away and make some more.
