Making a homemade cake? This is the perfect frosting to top off spice cakes, carrot cakes, vanilla cakes, and any kind of cupcakes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 (3 ounce) package of cream cheese, softened
  • 6 Tablespoons of butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 Tablespoon milk or half and half
  • 2 cups of powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • mixing bowl
  • hand mixer
  1. Step 1

    Take cream cheese and your butter or margarine out of the refrigerator to soften.

  2. Step 2

    In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese with the butter or margarine with a hand mixer until creamy.

  3. Step 3

    Add the Tablespoon of milk or half and half, the 2 cups of powdered sugar and the teaspoon of vanilla.

  4. Step 4

    Continue beating ingredients until mixture is smooth.

  5. Step 5

    Apply to dessert of choice.

Tips & Warnings
  • To store extra frosting, put in a container and refrigerate.
  • Also any leftover cake or cupcakes, store in a container in the refrigerator to keep the cream cheese fresh.
  • May need to double the ingredients if you need alot of frosting, or just make a 2nd batch.
