Bruschetta is a delectable Italian food, normally topped with tomatoes, spinach, and onions. Here's a sweet twist to the Italian favorite.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 Thick slices whole wheat bread
  • 6 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 3 cups sliced strawberries
  • 4 tablespoons cream cheese
  1. Step 1

TOAST BREAD! Toast the bread slices in a toaster.

  2. Step 2

COOK MIXTURE! Heat large skillet over high heat. Add sugar and lemon juice and cook, stirring, until the sugar melts and the mix begins to bubble, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.

  3. Step 3

ADD STRAWBERRIES TO MIX! Add strawberries and stir until juices begin to exude and the berries are heated through, 30 seconds to 1 minute more.

  4. Step 4

TOPPINGS! Spread 1 tablespoon cream cheese on each slice of toast. Top with warm berries. Enjoy your sweet twist to an Italian favorite!
