How to Make a Frisbee How to Make a Frisbee

Rate: (4 Ratings)

The green movement has us all looking for ways to be more earth friendly. If your kids are fascinated with frisbee golf, ultimate frisbee or even just old fashioned frisbee tossing, you'll love this easy project which lets you create a frisbee by recycling. Make one for every kid on the block and let the frisbee games begin!

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Plastic lids
  • Stickers
  • Permanent marker
Step1
Raid your recycling bin for plastic lids from cottage cheese containers, yogurt containers and other such containers with similar lids. Because your kids will use this for things like frisbee golf and ultimate frisbee, the larger the lid the better. Because the cost of this project is $0, you can also experiment by making frisbees of various sizes for the many games your kids will be using them to play.
Step2
Wash the lids well with dish soap and warm water to remove any traces of residue from whatever was in the containers before they were sent to the recycling bin. You don't want any sticky frisbees!
Step3
Decorate your homemade, recycled frisbees with stickers. Use a permanent marker to personalize each frisbee with a child's name. Your kids will love personalizing their frisbees and you'll appreciate having an easy way to tell whose is whose when the frisbee games have ended and it is time to head indoors.
Step4
Head outside with your decorated frisbees for some high flying fun!

Tips & Warnings

  • Recycled frisbees make a great idea for birthday parties--quick and easy, inexpensive, earth friendly, and finally--lots of fun!
  • Younger kids will be satisfied with simply tossing the frisbee back and forth but older kids may be up for the challenge of such games as ultimate frisbee and frisbee golf.

on 6/14/2008 What a great idea! And probably easier to use than larger frisbees for little kids' hands. Thanks! 5 stars.
