Sometimes you just want to read a book without grabbing a dictionary every minute. Here is how to tell if a book is too hard to understand.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Book
Step1
Take any book off of the bookshelf that interests you.
Step2
Open the book to a random page that is full of words with few or no pictures.
Step3
Begin reading at the top of the page. When you reach a word that you do not know the meaning of, hold up one finger, and continue reading. Keep count of the number of words you do not understand, and if it is more than five on the page, put the book back since it will likely be too hard for you to read.
Step4
Keep trying! Soon you will find the perfect book for you to read.

Tips & Warnings

  • This works not only for books but anything you read including newspapers and magazines.
