I redid my bedroom for under $300. I been living in the "same colored" room for years, and decided it was time for a change. I'm an adult now, didn't want that "lil girl" room anymore. The pic beside this, the top is what my bedroom looked like before. The bottom is the after.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Paint
  • Trim (Optional)
  • Border (Of Your Choice)
  • Shower Curtains
  • Money
Step1
The first thing I did, was to decide what color I wanted to paint my bedroom. My favorite color has always been blue (the lighter shade). I wanted a baby blue color, that was my favorite kind of blue. Wal-Mart didn't quite have the shade I wanted. Too dark or Too light. So decide what color you want to do your preferred room in. I bought my paint at Lowe's, it was between $17-$20 which isn't too bad for one can, and I still have some left over.

Suggessted stores for paint colors: Wal-Mart, Home Depot, & Lowes. Grab a few paint scheme squares, they are free.
Step2
Palm Tree Border The next thing I was deciding on was a border for my room. I did a beach theme for my bedroom, because I absolutly love the beach. I did find the one border, it was on clearance and I needed more, but sadly they didnt have any. I have it for a future home at least. I went to Wal-Mart and picked out the Palm Tree Border that I liked. Depending how much you need, I needed 2 rolls of them so it cost me around $26-$27
That's one thing I forgot to mention, measure the size of your room to determine how much border you need.
Step3
Border Trim Now this last one, I never thought of it, nor thought of getting it. My dad decided to put trim around my room. On the bottom of walls I have paneling so he put trim there, around my windows, and above my border. He got it at Lowe's, and was $200. It depends if you want trim, and you need to determine how much you need, and you may need to cut the trim size to fit. They have different designs of trim for you to choose from.

I redid my bedroom for all under $300. :o)

on 6/26/2008 Yes I did. I used shower curtains as regular curtains. It was actually my sister's Idea. I never would have thought about it. I got mine at K-Mart. I noticed K-Mart seems to have a wider variety of a selection compared to Wal-Mart. I just dont like any of the regular curtains at all. Next time I move that's what I'm gonna use again.
