How to Use Aloe As a Daily Moisturizer

When skin is dry and cracked, the application of aloe can be a soothing relief. Known for it's healing powers, aloe vera is used in many everyday moisturizers that are on the market. Aloe's benefits are countless, and you can use it to help heal your skin on a daily basis. Great for dry skin, cracked skin, rashes, and burns, aloe is second to none. But why pay high prices for aloe based lanolin creams mixed with other chemicals, when you can just use the real thing in it's natural state? The aloe can be mixed with olive oil to create a rich remoisturizer. Your dry, cracked hands and feet will thank your for this natural tip about how to use aloe vera as an everyday moisturizer!

Things You'll Need

• One large aloe vera plant
• 100% pure olive oil
• Cotton gloves
• cotton socks

Instructions

1. Snap off a small section of the aloe vera plant. About a half inch size piece should work well for one application.

2. Mix the aloe gel with the olive oil, to make the oil based moisturizer.

3. Apply the mixture just before bedtime to your hands and feet.

4. Apply cotton gloves to your hands, and the socks to your feet. Let the oil do it's moisturizing work overnight.

5. The following morning remove the gloves and massage remaining oil into skin.

Tips & Warnings

• If you do not use all of the gel inside the broken off piece of aloe plant, keep it on a windowsill for next time.

• Aloe is also great to apply to small cuts or burns.

• Aloe can also be mixed with broken vitamin E capsules for added moisture benefits.

• Apply generously to sunburned ares for soothing relief.

• Seek medical attention for burns that are severe.

• Skin that is severely cracked, broken and showing signs of bleeding, may need medical attention.
