Instructions

    • 1

      Open Photoshop.

    • 2

Click on "File" and then "Open." Select the photograph you want to work with. The photo should be of someone with a saber hilt in their hand, as this will expedite the whole process. Now click on "Open". It should pop up into the edit window of Photoshop.

    • 3

Click on the "Layer" menu and create a new layer.

    • 4

Use Photoshop's "Line" tool to draw a white blade. Make the thickness of the line equivalent to the width of your hilt.

    • 5

Zoom in and on the tip of the blade. It should be flat. Lightsabers don't have flat tips, so use either the "Smudge" or "Paintbrush" tools to give it a nice, rounded end.

    • 6

Add "Glow". Go to the "Layer" menu, scroll down to "Effects", and click on "Outer Glow". A dialogue box will pop up with several options. Set the color to whatever color you want your saber to be. Then, make sure the "Occupancy" and "Blur" levels are set at 100 and 20-25 respectively. Then check on the "Intensity" setting. It should stay at about 50%. Click on "OK" and you're finished.
