Step 1
Choose something that really represents something about you and your groom. For example, if you're avid coffee drinkers (and this is something everyone knows about you), perhaps you could put the flowers in an overly enlarged coffee cup with your names and wedding date on it. Or, perhaps you're both really into topiary. Find some really great bonsai trees and use those as your centerpieces. The guests will certainly relate to the things you use as your centerpieces if they know you well!

Step 2
Place small, personal messages on or in each centerpiece. It's best if you can handwrite these, as it will further give them a personal touch. Have someone get nice grade linen paper, cut it into quarters, and then either you, your spouse, or someone with nice penmanship can write a brief and DIFFERENT note to each table of guests. Perhaps you could even go so far as to roll them up and shove them (most of the way) into little glass bottles. These can often be found at craft or party stores.

Step 3
Put pictures of yourself and your spouse on or in the centerpiece. Another great way to really make these centerpieces your own, is to incorporate pictures of you and your spouse into these centerpieces. Try to use candid pictures; staged, stiff pictures aren't nearly as fun as giving your table something to talk about with your funny faces or accidental moments captured on camera.

Step 4
Get creative! Almost anything you and your spouse want to say or do for your guests can be turned into a unique, cute centerpiece that will give your guests something to talk about and something to fight over when the wedding ends! If you have a little more time, and little higher budget, photo albums can be a great centerpiece. Have someone decorate (or buy one that has already been decorated) the exterior of the album. You can find great little scrapbooking type miniatures to put on the outside and really personalize these albums. Put candid photos of you and your spouse with family and friends. These will give every table something to talk about during the meal, regardless of whether or not the guests know each other at the tables. Whatever you do, it's your special day. Your touch will only make the day more special for your guests!
