If you dry your fruits and vegetables, you don’t have to worry about them spoiling. Pineapple, in particular, tastes great dried and makes a good ice cream topping or just something to snack on. This article will teach you how to dry pineapple in some easy to follow steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pineapple
  • An oven

    Pre-heat Oven

  1. Step 1

Pre-heat your stove to 135 degrees. While your oven is heating up, you can do everything else you need to; this will save you a heap of time.

  2. Step 2

Remove the core from the pineapple.

  3. Step 3

Cut the pineapple into ¼-inch thick slices. You can make them thicker if you so choose. Keep in mind that it would take them longer to dehydrate.

  4. Step 4

Place the pineapple slices into your stove and let them sit until they are dehydrated. This will usually take a little more than six hours to complete.

Tips & Warnings
  • Before you retrieve your pineapple from the oven, you can treat it with lemon juice or ascorbic acid. This will give your pineapple a nice browned look when it is finished.
  • Do not set your stove too high, otherwise you could end up with charcoal instead of pineapple.
