How to Tie a Ossel Knot

The ossel knot is a hitch knot, most often used in boating, to tie a smaller line to a larger line. It is a fairly simple knot to tie, and can be very useful.

• Hitch

How to Tie a Ossel Knot

1. Place the smaller line over the top of the larger line.

2. Wrap the smaller line down underneath the larger line.

3. Place the smaller line over itself.

4. Pull the end of the smaller line back under the larger line.

5. Bring the smaller line back over the larger line again.

6. Bring the end of the smaller line over the top of the first loop you've already made with it, and beneath the second loop. Pull tight.
