Things You'll Need:
- Witches Almanac
- Silver RavenWolf books
- Internet access
-
Step 1
Learn more about Wicca by seeking out websites and on-line groups to find more information. You need to understand that Wicca is different from the witchcraft you see in movies and on television, meaning that you can’t just snap your fingers and turn someone into a frog. Many of their practices focus on bringing good karma into the world.
-
Step 2
Buy a copy of the Witches' Almanac. This book is the definitive guide on witchcraft and changes every year because it places an emphasis on things in nature such as the phases of the moon and the time of sunrise and sunset. It actually shares this in common with the Farmers' Almanac. The Witches' Almanac is available from most bookstores, on-line and even at some libraries.
-
Step 3
Pick up a few books by Wiccan author Silver RavenWolf. RavenWolf has written several books that are considered the definitive books on witchcraft and contain nearly everything you need to know about becoming a witch and casting spells. After reading her books you should know whether this is something you want to pursue.
-
Step 4
Look through the spells in your book along with spells on the Internet and let yourself be drawn to one in particular. Look for the spell that seems to call to you and use your intuition to find the right one.
-
Step 5
Practice the spells and slowly begin casting more spells. In the beginning you should limit yourself to one or two spells a week until you begin to understand how the spells work and see the effects of those spells. After a few months you can begin to increase your spell casting and start creating your own spells to cast.

on 3/15/2009 you cant cast spells to become a Witch and actually Witchcraft and Wicca are seperate things. not all Witches are Wiccan either this is a common misconception. Wicca is a nature religion that involves a lifetime of dedication and study, it is a way of life and does often but again not always incorporate Witchcraft, which is simply a practice.Silver Raven Wolf is not a good example of advisable literature.Being a witch is not all about spells, they are not a quick fix and something you have to do weekly. They are often a last resort to be used alongside one's own efforts and to practice them you are far better to learn all the ethics and fundementals then write and cast your own. * oh and as for announcing to the world that you are a witch, then you are one?? doesnt work that way. Calling yourself a witch doesnt make you one. and Generally witches dont shout their beliefs from the roofto

on 3/4/2009 Ravenwolf is not a good source to use. She is not Wiccan and is not recognized as a reliable source. Try Cunningham, he's a good place to start
