  • Reflexology foot map

    Find Your Acupressure Points

  1. Step 1

Become familiar with your body, hand, foot and ear reflexology maps.

  2. Step 2

Use the body reflexology map to locate the acupressure points for water retention, adrenal glands, kidneys, stomach and large intestine.

  3. Step 3

Use the the ear reflexology map to locate the appetite suppression points.

  4. Step 4

Use the reflexology hand map to locate the great eliminator point on the web between your thumb and index finger.

  5. Step 5

Study all of your reflexology maps and the corresponding points. Keep your maps with you while you work. When you are ready, you can begin.

  6. Pressure Points

  7. Step 1

Do full hand and foot massage on both of your hands and feet. Take your time, go slowly and enjoy the sensations.

  8. Step 2

Stop if you encounter tender or painful points. Locate what body organ or system is indicated by looking at your reflexology maps. Hold the pressure points that are tender for 30 seconds and then release.

  9. Step 3

Press firmly on the individual acupressure points for water retention, adrenal glands, kidneys, stomach, and large intestine.

  10. Step 4

Move to your ears and press on the pressure points for appetite suppression.

  11. Step 5

Press on the great eliminator point last. Use this point sparingly, as it releases toxins very easily. Too much pressure on this point may cause you to feel ill.

  12. Other Things to Consider

  13. Step 1

Realize that acupressure for weight loss alone does not work. Successful weight loss incorporates a healthy diet, exercise and other lifestyle changes into the program.

  14. Step 2

Be sure you are eating a healthy diet that includes the recommended daily amount of fruits, vegetables, protein and fiber.

  15. Step 3

Drink a minimum of eight glasses of water per day.

  16. Step 4

Stay away from sodium, carbohydrates and fats.

  17. Step 5

Get out and exercise. Walk around your neighborhood, take up a sport or join a local gym.

Tips & Warnings
  • Start with one full hand and foot massage per day. Do only two full massages per week. You can release the other points daily. Go slowly, as you cannot release years of pain or chronic issues the first few sessions. Use the appetite suppression points in the ears anytime you feel hungry.
  • Don't do acupressure on yourself if you are pregnant. In this case, it is best to let a professional reflexologist perform acupressure for you. Certain points can cause you to miscarriage.
