How to Charge Crystals
Crystals are full of energy that can be used for emotional, physical, and spiritual healing. They are very effective “magnets” that pull positive energies to you. In fact, the more you use them, the more of a bond you form with your crystals, which will enable them to work even quicker, and stronger, for you. However, frequent use of your crystals can weaken their energy. To prevent this from happening, you should charge your crystals regularly, using the elements of air, fire, water, and earth. Follow these steps to charge your crystals.

- 1 joss stick (for air)
- 1 red candle (for fire)
- 1 bowl of water
- 1 bowl of dirt
- 1 bottle of essential oil (such as Jasmine)

Before charging your crystal, carry it around in your pocket for a few days. This helps strengthen the bond between your crystal and your energy field.

Charge your crystal only during the waxing moon (that period between the new and the full moon.)

On a small table, arrange the following items in the following sequence: Place the bowl of earth to the north. Place the joss stick to the east. Place the candle to the south. Place the bowl of water to the west. Place the bottle of oil in the middle of this circular arrangement of elements.

Light the candle.

Light the joss stick from the candle’s flame.

Pass your crystal through the smoke of the joss stick, saying, “I charge you with the winds of air.” Visualize the power of air coursing through it.

Pass your crystal over the candle’s flame, saying, “I charge you with the power of fire.” Visualize the fire’s energy penetrating your crystal.

From your bowl of water, sprinkle water over your crystal, saying, “I charge you with the power of water.” Visualize ocean currents surging through the crystal.

Put your crystal in the bowl of dirt, saying, “I charge you with the power of earth.” Scoop dirt over it, imagining the crystal absorbing the energy of the earth. Remove the crystal from the dirt.

Slowly rub oil all over the crystal, saying, “I anoint you with all of the elements of the earth in total harmony.” Visualize energy passing through your hands into the crystal.
